Persepsi Rakyat Kepada BN Semakin Baik – Penganalisis

Selangor challenged to give free education
FIRST-YEAR Universiti Selangor (Unisel) students should be accorded free education by the Selangor government.
This was the challenge levelled by Taman Templer assemblyman Datuk Subahan Kamal yesterday, stating the state government should practice such a policy as it had more than enough capital in its coffers to accommodate it.
“They only need RM30 million to give free education to first-year Unisel students,” he told reporters while the state assembly adjourned for lunch.
“They have RM2.2 billion in their reserves, so what is holding them back?”
Subahan was referring to statements made by Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman Azmin Ali during Azmin’s debate on the supplementary budget tabled in the state assembly sitting yesterday.
Azmin had brought up the issue of the federal government’s move to temporarily axe the disbursement of loans from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN).
The short-lived ban was announced early last month, and could have affected some 1,000 students had it not been withdrawn.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin had last month said the freeze on the loans to first year Unisel students was a test for the Pakatan Rakyat-led state government to offer free education.
The move received heavy criticism from Opposition leaders and even some Barisan Nasional (BN) politicians.
Despite the lifting of the ban, the Selangor government had liquidated assets worth RM30 million in an effort help pay the students’ fees.
The money would instead be used by the state to purchase Unisel hostel buildings to help lessen the burden of students who currently have to pay for lodgings.
Subahan criticised Azmin’s debate on the supplementary budget, deeming it as nothing more than an attempt to gain “political mileage”.
“This is not Parliament. Let us talk about state supplementary budget,” he said. “Use the opportunity to discuss how the budget will affect people.”

DAP bertanding 90 kerusi adalah kenyataan mengarut... - Nik Aziz
KOTA BHARU - Mursyidul Am PAS, Tuan Guru Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, enggan mengulas laporan muka hadapan Utusan Malaysia hari ini yang mendakwa DAP bakal bertanding di 90 kawasan Parlimen pada PRU13 nanti.
Bagaimanapun, beliau hanya berkata “karut semua tu”.

Low response to foreign voter drive, says EC
SHAH ALAM, July 6 — Response to its voter registration drive outside of the country has been disappointing, the Election Commission (EC) has said despite earlier clamour for the facility.
“It has been six months since we opened-up registrations for voters abroad at embassies and consulates, but until now only 300 to 400 voters have registered,” Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Yusoff, the head of the commission, told The Malaysian Insider recently.
“Only a maximum of five voters came to register in a day.”
According to Aziz, the response so far fell short of the earlier clamour.
“Prior to the EC opening up registrations, there was ruckus all over that Malaysian voters abroad were being denied of their right to vote,” said Abdul Aziz.
To facilitate registrations abroad, the EC has placed appointed officers at Malaysian embassies and consulates as assistant registrars.
Forms for voter registration are also available online and may be filled up before being sent to Malaysian embassies and consulates abroad.
In discussions with the Parliamentary Select Committee for Electoral Reform (PSC), the commission had suggested that Malaysians abroad who intended to vote make the trip home once in five years to do so,
“If they have not returned to Malaysia, this means they have no knowledge of the political scene in the country.
“Even countries such as the United Kingdom have rules for their voters abroad and not everyone can vote as they wish,” Aziz told The Malaysian Insider.
The voting process abroad will also not replicate the system used in the country as Wisma Putra was not willing to make it so.
“In certain places abroad, there are only one or two Malaysians and it is a waste of time to do the normal procedure.
“Thus, the EC proposed for the voting for Malaysians abroad to be done via postal voting,” said Aziz.

Apakah ianya satu konspirasi mahu menjatuhkan kepimpinan YAB DS Najib Razak ?

Mahathir, a racist and Malay chauvinist - TRUE OR FALSE?
The nation of Malaysia has reached the crossroads after years of suffering much anguish and pain in the hands of being ruled by Barisan Nasional. The extent of anguish and pain that Malaysians have suffered in the hands of BN cannot be fully quantified or assessed as yet.
However, what is certain is the way and manner of governing Malaysia since the days of the establishment of the Mahathir regime which has definitely witnessed a major blow and setback for democracy and race relations.
The real “pengkhianat Bangsa Melayu”?
It is an undeniable fact that while Mahathir governed Malaysia with impunity, he was also guilty of being a racist and a Malay chauvinist.
By often calling upon and using the racial card, he caused gullible and unsuspecting Malays and other bumiputras to believe that their common enemy is the non-bumiputras especially the Chinese and Indians.
But the blow to his racial ploy was only apparent with the return of globalisation to the fore.
When the world decided to go global, Mahathir’s racial ploys backfired and blew up in his face. The Malays were found not to have the competitive edge in being able to compete in a globalised environment as they were rendered weak by being fully dependent on the BN government for assistance and aid.
By causing Malays and bumiputras to become soft in their belly, an underclass society actually, it is really Mahathir Mohammad who is truly the “pengkhianat Bangsa Melayu” (the traitor to the Malays), and not Anwar Ibrahim, which Perkasa should take note.

Jarumemas: He is not a chauvanist, it is just that he saw that the Malays were having a fair share in economy due to lack of knowledge and knowhow.
