DPM does not discount Raya polls
KUALA LUMPUR - THERE is nothing “wrong” with having the 13th general election (GE) during the Raya month, says Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
“We are now going into the fasting month. Some people have asked whether the general election would be held during the fasting month. I said, ‘what’s wrong?’

“When the time comes, we’ll have our elections.”
Many had discounted the elections being held during Ramadan and Raya because of the month-long fasting and the celebrations that follow with the long holidays.
According to Bernama, Muhyiddin said it would not be held next year as this year would be the most suitable time.
“I don’t think the wait will go into next year. However, it depends on the prime minister.
I have told him that this year would be the best time,” he said when opening the annual delegates’ meeting of the Batu Umno division, yesterday.
