KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 — A new group of traders based in the city now want to hold a two-day protest in front of Datuk Amibga Sreenevasan’s house over the loss of income due to the chaotic April 28 rally, despite previous protestors calling off further events at the Bersih chief’s home.

Bernama reported that 60 petty traders are planning to sell household goods, food and drinks from 3.30 to 8pm in front of Ambiga’s Bukit Damansara home this Thursday and Friday.

“Each of the traders can expect a turnover of between RM300 and RM500 a day by trading there,” the state news agency quoted Kuala Lumpur Petty Traders Action Council chief Datuk Jamal Md Yunus as saying.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s speech to overseas Malaysians at a get-together in London last night was interrupted by repeated chants of “Bersih! Bersih!” from the floor.

The chanting started when Najib took to the stage, and it continued when he began his speech.

According to a footage uploaded on Internet, after some 25 seconds into his speech, Najib was clearly annoyed by the chanting; he raised his right hand and told the protesters to stop it.

“Can you please stop it? Can you stop it, please?” he said, to some inaudible reply from the floor.

Najib: I cannot afford one wrong decision

KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 — Datuk Seri Najib Razak related today the responsibilities he shoulders as prime minister, saying his administration could not even afford a single mistake as it would be used as fodder to dispute his leadership.

Najib, who had taken on the country’s reins at a time when the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) was said to be at its weakest, said the “stress factor” in being prime minister soars when he has to make major decisions and ensure that they satisfy all, if not most, segments of society.

“When you are PM, if we have to make 10 major decisions, we need to get 10 out of 10 right. If we only get nine right, and one inaccurate, that is the one that people would fault us for.
